Hi,
In my Project we are trying to assign different number range for BP role- Employee and External Number range BP role- Ship to party . We are not able to assign number range specific to roles. Is their any config need to be maintained.
With regards,
Selvam T
Hi Selvam,
the number range is assigned by business partner grouping, as this is one of single mandatory attributes of business partner. You can have more roles per one business partner and you can add them later to an existing business partner.
Check the documentation in IMG (SPRO->Cross application components->SAP Busines Partner->Business Partner->Basic Settings->Number ranges and groupings->Define groupings and Assign Number Ranges.
You have to make sure in your process to choose proper grouping when creatin employee or sold-to-party.

Dawood.

Hi Selvam,
what do you mean, like in ECC? You mean in SD customer? There you also do not derive from partner function but from Account group. You can think account groups as mirror object of business partner grouping in this case.
Please, don't be confused by the naming - in SD standard, there is account group 0001 called Sold-to party and also partner function called Sold-to party. When you createte customer in ECC, then you must select account group, partner functions can be added/modified later. You can have more partner functions per customer but only one account group by customer.
The same is in CRM with business partner and business partner group and roles.

Dawood.
Hi Selvam,
If you want to assign a specific number range for your employees, check the customizing via:
SPRO --> Customer Relationship Management --> Master Data --> Business Partner --> Integration Business Partner-Employee --> Set Up Integration With HR
In this setting, you can define the grouping you would like to use for your employees.
Check entries:
HRALX PBPON Value must be ON
HRALX PNUMB I propose to use 3, but check help here what fits your situation
HRALX PSUBG Enter the BP grouping you want to use that you reserved for your number range for the employees.

Jacques
