Maximum Characters for Shipping Instruction Text Field in Standard Order

May I know how to check the maximum characters allowed for Standard Order Shipping instruction Text?

Hi Eva,

There is no Limitation to the Maximum character for a text field. If you are looking in the print document, then there the Technical Team can specify the maximum lenght you want to be printed, using data declaration.

Dear Eva ,

there is no limed characters to enter your text and you can see the text by double click on text editor and it will take you to SAP Editor screen. there you can see the 72 characters in one line and the continuation you can see in the next line .

         There is no restriction on the number of characters in text field. But I think you might be looking for the max text length that can be printed on output, is it so?

Hi Eva,

        It depends on the output type you are looking. Standard text of upto 255 characters can be printed on the output. SAP note (485296) which can be referred for more info.

Further, you can check with your technical team for existing limit for required output type.

Hi,

You can have as much text printed on the smartform as you need. Normally the function module READ_TEXT is used in smartforms to pull up the text.
