Solution Manager 7.1 solman_setup very slow

Former Member

Hi,

I have installed Solution Manager 7.1 and made some basic configuration as well as running SGEN. I can browse solman_setup through firefox to setup users. In the system preparation I have only managed to setup SOLMAN_ADMIN user,  when I want to setup all the other users as well any other configuration in the browser it is taking forever to load such that I cannot even setup all the other users and do all the required config in system preparation. I would appreciate if you can suggest how I can resolve this issue.

OS: Windows Server 2012 Standard

Database: SQL Server 2012

SAP Kernel Release : 721

Support package level: SAPK70209(support package 09 for 7.02)

Regards,

Macdonald

I agree. I have installed a fresh new Solution Manager 7.1 from SAP media, patched it to SP14 with patch DVD and xml file that came with download basket. Now I´m running SOLMAN_SETUP....

Webdynpro called by SOLMAN_SETUP is very slow, and for my surprise, machine is not pushed at all. CPU remains low and I´ve got half physical memory free at my server. It is a x86 running windows 2012 with 24 Gb ram and a cpu with 4 cores.

Running sgen now to see if it gets better.

---- EDIT ----

Problem was my internet browser and java version. Updated them both and SOLMAN_SETUP webdynpro is not running as is should.

Hi Macdonald,

Please read SAP Note 2258193. It could be the Firefox version.

HI Macdonald,

I remember facing a similar issue, can you try switching to "https" and see if it works.

This may not be a permanent solution, but I guess it should help you.

Example: When you start transaction SOLMAN_SETUP, it opens a browser in "http" i.e http://<hostname>:<port>.... just change this "http" to "https"  and see if it works.

Leela.

Hi Macdonald,

Is SGEN still running .I would suggest to wait until SGEN is completed and check performance issue after that

If issue still exist you could try switching to Internet explorer

Also please check in PAM for the supported browser versions

https://support.sap.com/release-upgrade-maintenance/pam.html

Could you also check the hardware resource utilization in system

Hi Guys,

If I try to use https I am not able to browse both in firefox and internet explorer. If I use http I can only browse using firefox and internet explorer I get http 500 internal server error. SGEN has already finished running.
