Hi,
I am getting trained in EC currently and have been practicing on the system. While doing so, I am facing an issue. I created a 'legal entity' using Manage Data. However, while hiring an employee I am not able see any company listed in the drop down menu. It says "no data". Am I missing something? Please let me know.
Thanks,
sai
Hi Sai,
Refer to the EC master guide in section “7.2 Setting Permissions for MDF Foundation Object” and check on Defining Value Help Permissions for Admin / Employee / Manager.
Basically you have to set your role to have required visibility / action permission to "MDF Foundation Objects" i.e. in this case Legal Entity object.
Thanks & Regards, Uppal

Hi Uppal,
Thanks for your response. However, I did check the role permission and it looks like everything is in tact. But I still see the problem. Under Manage Data, I can create many companies and save. But the problem is when I do the hiring of a new employee, I see the company field, but its values are not populating, It says "No Data". Please see the attached screenshots for your reference. Thanks!
Hi Uppal,
In addition to my issue, I would also like to add that I have also noticed that any generic object that I create under Manage Data is not reflecting when I am on the hiring screen and also if I go to an existing employee's employment information screen to change the business unit or position or legal entity. But the foundation object such as location, I am able to change . But the issue is with generic object, I get the message "No Data". Is there anything that I need to check under "Manage Business Configuration"? Please advise!
Thanks!
Hi Sai,
Please check in Configure Object Definitions
Secured: Yes
Permission Category : MDF Foundation Objects
and for your user please check View User Permission , and you see the objects in the permission. May be try with user with all of the admin permission.
Also, are you in demo instance or a customer instance, in case you have access to demo I would recommend to compare the settings.
Can’t think of any other issue but may be related to the generic object migration.
Thanks & Regards, Uppal
