TDMS Timesbased reduction - Error in 'Identification of Accounting documents'

Hi Friends,

We are working with Time based reduction for ERP for the first time and when i executed the activity " Update of TDMS Header tables with Busines process details' step ,  subactivity " Identification of Accounting documents' is failing.

I do not have access to the sender/reciever system yet but checking with you if you have instructions for me to follow up. Attaching the screenshot.

Also , do i need to do any special settings if we would like to get the material documents, Purchase order, Invoices and goods receipts ?

Hi Adithya,

What is version of TDMS you are on .

Can you click on the log icon and navigate to corresponding job for that step .Please paste the log information .Is there any useful information there

Please also check if there are any mem dumps/Time out  in TDMS central system or in sender

Also have a check on below note

Hi Murali,

Thanks for the response. I think we are on TDMS 4 SP08 ( that is what i was told by Basis team in all systems ) .

Attached is the screenshot from the job log. Please suggest me how we can resolve this issue.

I looked at forums and they were taking about setting parameters ( not sure ) . I do not know how to set these parameters too if it is required.

Hi Adithya,

Can you check what is value of P_ROLL for BKPF Activity id .Below is procedure to check

1.Call transaction CNVMBTACTPAR

2.Select the package which you are using

3.Find for Activity ID TD05X_FILL_BKPF and  TD05X_FILL_BKPF_O

4.Check for selction P_ROLL -> Selection Value Low should be : X

Hi Murali,

I did change the parameters as recommended and reexecuted  the subactivity " Identification of Accounting documents'.

Now its running for the past 5 hours ..Some of the tables have been processed but then after that i see the same message in the Job log with " Portion number : 1.00 ! "

Same message is being repeated thousands of times in the job log. Not sure if this is expected out of the job.

It is still running with the message " Portion number : 1.00 ! " in the job log.

Running for the past 9 hours. Data is very minimal in our sender system ( only one FI period ). So i am not sure if there is any problem.

Hi Adithya,

Is the job still running ,there seems to be huge number of entries for BKPF table .That might be reason for taking long time .Ideally it will create multiple portions and they will be completed in sequence

I looked at the Sender system and there is only one job running ( screen shot attached ).

Is there anyway we can do a parallel execution by multiple job .

I changed the background jobs from 5 to 15 and tried to restart the step but it wont as the step is already started.

Any idea on how to get a better performance. This is a proof of concept but we are going for bigger transfer next week and i am worried about how to increase the performance.

Any document that would help me with the performance would be really helpfull.

You should upgrade to SP09 or SP10 of DMIS  / DMIS_CNT .

There is a new solution available with SP09 onwards for this activity  which is highly optimized.
