add additional industry Best Practices to SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition – Fully Activated

Hello CAL team,

We have activated the SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition – Fully Activated on the AWS platform.  We understand it has Best Practice for Baseline plus Chemicals plus Discrete Manufacturing.  Can we activate another industry Best Practice, say CPG into this instance?  If so, what would be the difficulties or problems, and the sequence of events you would advise?  We have a concern that once the Simple Finance is added, maybe we can no longer add any further Best Practices?

hi Bill,

no, you cannot activate any other industry Best Practices in this instance. Reasons:

1. None of the industry Best Practices 607 version has been updated for Simple Finance (One Voice name is SAP S/4HANA Finance).  So you cannot activate an industry solution (containing classical Finance) in a landscape where Simple Finance Add-on is installed (which is the instance status)
2. The Chemicals and DM BP solution in the instance was activated before Simple Finance add-on was installed. And then the whole thing has been "migrated" after Add-on is in.
