Hi Experts,
I am trying to establish connectivity between Successfactor and HCI tenant.
I have selected Authentication mode as Basic Authentication for Sender (SuccessFactor)
Basic authentication credentials had been successfully deployed in Deployed Artifacts.
While trying to fetch messages from SF Server i have ended up with following error.
Error = javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: Could not send Message., cause: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
I could infer from above error, we need Certificates from Client to establish connectivity.
pls clarify following queries.
---> Basic authentication, doesn't solve the purpose. Kindly throw some light on the same.
--> What are the alternatives to establish connectivity between Cloud to On-premise and Cloud to Cloud?
--> If we go for Certificate based authentication, would self sign suffice the requirement or we need sign from Trusted CA's?
Note : Cloud Connector option s not feasible since i am using 32-bit Windows OS.
Best Regards,
Suresh S

Hi Van Rooij,
I am able to connect SF Instance by Importing the necessary certificates into HCI instance.
Don't we need to import HCI Certificate into SF Instance?
Other question is,
I am trying to connect On-Premise PI System from HCI , i have already imported the necessary certificate into HCI, bu still the same error.
Could not send Message., cause: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
PI Certificate is intended for following purpose only,
Kindly share how to generate correct SSL Certificate which could solve this purpose.
Best Regards,
Suresh S
Hi Suresh,
you do not have to upload a certificate into SF, only the SF certificate into HCI.
I am not able to answer your other question, I have no experience in connecting HCI to on premise PI but I think you need to add the certificate to your keystore, see
