Alternative Sequence should also CIF in SNP PDS

Hi Experts,

As per standard functionality, SNP PDS can only be used for linear chain of operation.

But it is possible we can CIF alternative resource to SNP PDS via badi /SAPAPO/CURTO_SNP as i read in old SCN posts.

Can you please elaborate which parameter i need to change in the corresponding BADI inorder to achieve the desired result.

And also is there any change require from ECC side also.

(If i am correct,Multiple SNP PDS should be generated in this case.)

Need your help on this.

Hi Nitish,

We had also similar type of Requiremnets, but for PPM. I thought sharing our experience with you, which can be helpful to address your requirement as well.

We did this through badi implementation. We have used one Z-table to update Alternate resource. On PPM creation, this Z-table is called and PPM created for those altenate Resource.

similar technique you can use, with help from your ABAP developer.

Thanks for your response.

Case 1:

We have already achieved the desired result while using PPM.

But as in PPM there is no auto conversion program to convert PPDS PPM to SNP PPM.

Need to define mode combination and then need to do conversion.

If you have any program or suggestion,how can we automate this process it will be really helpful, so we can avoid SNP PDS.

Case 2:

Due to the reason we have to do conversion and all we are thinking of a solution to do it by using SNP PDS.But not able to achive the desired result while using the above Badi /SAPAPO/CURTO_SNP.I have read in various SCN posts people have achieved the desired result while using this BADI i.e. why i post this question.

Hi Toral,

In my case we have achieved the same functionality using PPM instead of PDS.

Because we have debug the badi curto_snp , not able to achieve the desired result.

So as per business we forced to use PPM only.

As per SAP note also, alternative sequence is supported by PPM only.

Yes you are correct. SNP PDS does not support alternate sequences.

Curious why you want a SNP PDS or PPM with alternate sequences.   Are you using CTM.  SNP really doesn't care if you have alternate sequences or not.
