Dear SAP QM Gurus,

I have a requirement in which

- I need to schedule a job such as QA33 to generate the lot list for a criteria.

- The generated report should be sent to some SAP Users

Are there any ways to achieve this or any alternative....

Please suggest

Thanks

Mudassar

Nothing standard that I'm aware of.

I would think this is simply a query with the correct criteria and probably an Excel output that is mailed to a distribution list.

All doable and probably not that difficult either.  The hardest part could be the mailing part of it depending on your landscape.

On the other hand, why not simpy provide some selection variants for QA33 and show users how to use it?  With a custom selection variant, and a related custom layout profile any user should be able to run QA33 in under 15 seconds.  They can click on the Excel export button and save it locally and mail it to anyone they want.   You could make his someones responsibility each morning, (with a backup).  It would literally take them 2-3 minutes tops.

I'm not a big fan of emailed reports.  For one, QA33/32 should be reviewed several times a day anyway by a lab manager or production person to monitor for issues such as lots hung up in CRTD state, lots overdue, lots with missing stock postings, etc. etc..  While there it should only take them 2 minutes to select the selection variant, run it, and export a report and email it to a distribtution list.

Inevitably, when you email reports from SAP you have issues with future changes to the report ias well as changes to the email DL.  IMHO

I have to agree with Craig - teach the users to rely on the transaction not the report.

I often teach people that they should start and end their day looking at QA32 - much like they do with email. Nobody calls you to tell you they sent an email, you just go look. teach the same with QA32 - just go look.

I had the opportunity to teach this with a group of users a few months ago - they have said they all now rely on the live data so much they find even day old reports too far out of date.

Hello Mudassar,

As suggested by Craig and seth you can suggest the desired users to execute QA33 directly..or if they wanted through mail means through distribution list you can be able to achieve this.

please refer the below document for better understanding how to maintain the distribution list
