Hi there,
I am trying to trigger a change pointer for Media material Business Partner Data(Tcode JP27/28). I am able to trigger Change pointer for all the other data except Business Partner data. Both Business partner data and Media data exists in the same Transaction. But the tables are different.
I could see the contents in CDHDR/CDPOS tables, but the entries are not there in BDCP/BDCPS table. I did the config. in BD61/50/52. Added all the fields for Business partner in BD52.
Can you please suggest any config is missing in this regard.
Thank You.
Follow the below path, unfortuanately there is no TCODE for this. And check what is the storage table configure in your system for the message type.
SAP Web Application Server -> Application Link Enabling (ALE) -> Modeling and Implementing Business Processes -> Master Data Distribution -> Replication of Modified Data -> Check Change Pointer storage.

Hi Vijaya,
As you said in the first place, you can see the contents in CDHDR/CDPOS, that's right. Actual changes will be stored in CDHDR/CDPOS. BDCP2 is just a pointer, you use BDCP2-CDOBJCL, BDCP2-CDOBJID and BDCP2-CDCHGNO to get to CDHDR/CDPOS.
Hope this helps you.

I have to tirgger idocs. The standard SAP program triggers the IDOC for created change pointers in the data base(BDCP2 table).
If there is change in business partner data, the standard program should pick the material and create the idoc. As the change pointers(BDCP2) are not created for business partner data the idocs are not getting created.
What more config is required to get the entries in BDCP2 table, so that we can trigger idocs.
Thank you.
Hi
i checked the all documents. I did the config the same that is mentioned in the docs. But its not working
One more thing that i forgot to mention. We are using custom segment for populating the data through extending idoc. Business partner data is not coming from standard idoc. We are populating the business partner data in custom segment.
Thank you.
Is the business partner data is a part of material master?. You can only create change pointers for those fields which are integrated to your material master.
If those fields are not part of the material master, you have to implement screen customer exit or do a core mod and inlude that field in transaction BD52. Also make sure the data element for the field you have created on the screen should be Change Document enabled.

Hi suman,
Business Partner data is part of master data which is available in the view Basic Media Data1 of JP28 transaction. We have a custom program which reads the changes made to the materials (using change pointers) including Business partners and has to generate IDOCs with the changes. We have activated the change pointers on this business partners table & Fields in BD52, but they are not getting stored in the change pointers table, but the change documents are there in CDHDR & CDPOS.
Please help me out in activating the change pointers (IDOC) for business partners.
Thanks in Advance,
Vijay
