Cannot cancel depreciation run

hello experts,

I have a customer that uses the fixed assets module

in France localization version 910150

he created a manual AC (capitalization) and want to cancel it

when we try to right click and cancel we get "cancelation is not possible. first cancel sunsequent transactions in depretiation area FA for the asset"

we then go to the depreciation run and try canceling it but cancel option is not available

please see screen shot attached.

what is the way to cancel the AC?

Answer:

It is depand on depreciation posting date.

you need to first cancel transactions that were posted after the depreciation date

for the requested items and them cancel the depreciation.

transactions can be:

reconciliations, payments,AP invoice ets.

there is an importance to the cancelation order.

cancel last-first and so on.

Cancellation of depreciation run

  1. Open the depreciation run schedule/menu
  2. Use the depreciate to date order in cancelling ie first cancel the most recent
  3. to cancel click the depreciation run number and select cancel and Ok

In case they are some manual depreciation ensure all are cancelled in order for the process to be successful.

Cancellation of a capitalization can be done using a capitalization credit note document in the fixed asset module. In case of above mentioned errors

  1. try to ensure that depreciation for the specified assets are done on a LIFO bases ie cancel the most recent first and this applies also to cancelling depreciation runs.
  2. Ensure that the date of credit note is almost the same as capitalization date.
  3. Also visit asset posting or status report to verify if they exist any un-cancelled transactions.
  4. Hopefully your user license can allow you to do the cancellations.

if it is super user then may be we need to restart the server

Is it manager login? if not check it once with manager Login  .........Limited user we need re assign license and restart SAP B1
