Dear manasa

not sure what guidance you need. in Cg02 you "create " the label; CBGLWB you can (according to my knowledge) print the label. What is your definition of "label version"?

Hi Christ,

In CG02 after creating the report a report with new version number is created and we go to report management we can see the latest report with new version number with status released. The old reports go to historical status. The same version number we are getting in CG02 report management and we are not getting the same latest version number in labelling workbench CBGLWB. We have done the coding in report template for the dynamic version number to come on labels. But we are not able to get in labelling workbench.

Please advice for the solution. I attached herewith the document with pictures.

Thanks and regards

Dear Manasa

still not 100% clear to me.

if you use CG02 an "Create report" then you can use e.g. CG50 to release the new report;  in most cases the "new" report will have status "Ready" so you need first to "release"it (and in mostc ases the "old" report will be set historical automatic.

Now you can use a "report symbol" as part of the WWI report to "show" the version number in the new created report. This can be done with e.g. SDS, Label or whtasover kind of WWI report, thjis is nothing "special"; This should work in CG50/Cg54.

As the version is a "static" information the same result should be obtained in using the new GLM+ approach.

Can you explain your statement: "But we are not able to get in labelling workbench." better. Is the version number not printed? is itn ot "shown" in the report? What exactly is shown?

Hi Christ,

Let me explain with pics. This we get in CG02 report management after creating report.

The same 1.2 or 1.3 we are expecting on label in labelling workbench, but we couldn't. But we are getting in CG02 report maagement preview of the label.Plz explain what to do.

Dear Manasa

1.) for "Labelworkbench": is this the so called "pdf preview" which you show in the pic? Or is this a "WWI" preview (may be take a look to this thread: SAP GLM PDF generation | SCN)? This is a "major" difference;

what happens it you "just" print the label (and forget aboput the "preview"); is the version printed?

2.) Do you use SAP standard symbol to retrieve the version number?

PS: according to the thread as inserted: did you "enhanced" GLM+ using the BADI as mentioned there? If this is really a "pdf" preview and you have not enhanced SAP EHS GLM: then may be start OSS dialog. It is probable that you will not get "all" kind of information in this preview (e.g. BAR Code etc.) but you will get only the "most" important one

I do not have any experience here.

Hi Christ,

First of all thank you for your time.

We are getting the label in PDF format also as we are working on EHP7.

Business is asking to get the latest version number on the lables dynamically. Let me explain about the importance of version number is when ever we change any specification(regulatory data) for any material or when ever we do the changes on label template we need to create the report in CG02 report management. Then new label version generates, that we need to get on the lables. In addition to the version number we are working on the version date also. Business needs the latest version number with date. That means the label should indicate the date of the regulatory data modified. Both we are getting in CG02, but not able to get in labelling workbench. That is the requirement for the business.

Thanks and regards

Dear Manasa

according to: Checking Labels - Global Label Management (EHS-SAF-GLM) - SAP Library

this is explained: "The label check produces a preview in PDF or RTF format." (can you may be switch the "doc format"  from pdf to rtf in your "Dev" system and check what will happen?)

1.) first: ignore the content of the label in the preview; just print the label (even if we talk in most cases about "What you see you will get); if you still don't get the number => start may be OSS dialog; the "preview" is jsut for "preview" purpose. If CG54/CG50 is fine hopefully the result in printing the label should be as well fine (buzt you need to check clearly)

2.) Second. sorry: we are not using this functionality and therefore I can not really help.

I propose the following: use your "dev SAP" system and "slightly" change your label layout: I would "assume"; that some "other" topics might go "wrong" as well. so may be add "additional" report symbol as "data at whcih label report is generated". I would expect that you will get the same issue..

I have the feeling, that may be the "PDF label preview" does not support all WWI options...
