Hi every one,

i have a funny question but i need to ask. I am new with SAP. im trying to create a test Cube in SAP BW with my test Exel Data. But i wonder if my Test Cube will affect our current BW Data?.

is my Test Cube is independent from the other Cube or not?

Because i am afraid of making any Error to our current Cube.

Thanks!

Hi,

Basically it cannot do any harm to the other InfoCube. However, in the area of master data you have to be very careful with file uploads. The master data (i.e. the SID table) can become polluted if you load wrong master data. I suggest to always activate the master data checks during the uploads.

By the way, do you have a sandbox system to play around?

Best regards,

Sander

Hi,

If you will just play with test cube, just create also your TEST INFOOBJECTS so as not to affect the data in your masterdata objects..

Also, as mentioned by the members above, this TEST CUBE will not affect any infoproviders your system have..

Hi,

your test will not affect the curret BW data.

it is independent of all other cubes and it will not affect any other cube.

some time you are using same info objects for your test cube.

if you have sand or test system you can play around with your data/cube.

Thanks,

Phani.

Hi Chrom,

Ans to your question If you are creating fresh new cube or any object in your BW system it will not affect to existing objects.

I would suggest create testing objects in sandbox system this system is for testing only.check with your basis of sandbox system for BW and try.

gather information and do hands-on ALL the Best!
