ECC-GTM : What about GTM on HANA or in S/4 HANA

Hello

I am looking for information about the roadmap of Global Trade Management.

As it is a part of ECC, I suppose it can be used with Business suite on HANA. Is It Correct ?

But about S/4 HANA ? What kind of solutions will SAP procure ?

Best regards

Emmanuel

HI Emmanuel,

GTM is released for ECC in HANA and it is also contained in S/4 HANA 1511. It is back to the EA-APPL and of cause has been simplified to, as it highly integrated with other modules. It has not a new UI yet.

Hello Peter.

Thank you for the answer.

Do you have a link about GTM HANA release ?

About S/4 hana, that means :

- there is no GTM specific standard Fiori Apps yet

- GTM can be managed with the standard fiori apps from sales/procurement

Is it right ?

Hi Emmanuel,

no, I have no link regarding GTM ECC 6.07 on HANA. But the product management told me, that it is approved for that version. From a business functions point of view it is identical to the non HANA version. It also exists a fiory app for the approval of trading contracts.

Regarding S/4 HANA, GTM is part of it as well, but it has no new fiory apps. You have to use it using SAPGUI. You can NOT use SD or MM fiory apps for GTM, because the trading contract and the trading execution workbench are the main tools. You have to be beware, that SAP is really doing housekeeping. There will only be one function of e kind, e.g. if you have used traditional FI credit limit, you have to move to FSCM.

Please have a look at this blog: SAP S/4 HANA - SPS00: What is new and what is not and the Simplification List, p. 90ff.

Hello Peter.

Thanks for the information.

Regarding GTM in S/4HANA, you wrote we have to use the transactions using SAPGUI.

That means GTM can be only used in S/4HANA On Premise edition but not in S/4HANA cloud edition. Is it correct ?

A small explanation I found about this fact :

Hello

1.) Pay attention using terms. Because of history and many other reasons there is a lot of confusion (what is ECC, what is ERP etc. etc.) (e.g. check )

2.) If we define: Global Trade Management" as "SAP GTS": then this software is updated from time to time so that you will get a new "compliant"solution. Currently we are on version 11.0 (check: SAP Global Trade Services 11.0 – SAP Help Portal Page)

3.) Pay attention not to mix "hardware" aspects with software aspects. In many cases the "best practise" seems to be: One SAP ERP/ECC system and one SAP GTS system

Now the term "Business Suite" is once again not a "very good" one (but check: to get a "first" answer; may be: could be of interest too; same as: ). But in most of the cases we can assume that this is SAP ERP/ECC next version (the Next version will be S/4 HANA (Business Suite solution e.g. check: SAP S/4HANA – SAP Help Portal Page)

To get current information about any kind of road map from SAP is not easy. I am not aware of any plan to move SAP GTS to a "HANA" based version.... but time goes by...

Hi Christoph,

GTM stands for Global Trade Mangement and is an own Komponent (LO-GT) of the ECC and S/4 Hana. It interacts with Global Trade Services (GTS).

Peter

Dear Peter

thanks: I was on the "wrong road".... We have to many SAP solutions and the terms used by SAP are not always good (and sometimes not understood)
