Can't create a seconardy cost element

I tried to create a secondary cost element but received an error message as below:

G/L account 800100 exists. Secondary c. elem. does not exist

I tried Tcode KA01 to create a cost element from reference but didn't work for secondary cost element. Can someone help?

There must be GL with the same name.. u should check GL in FI before creating secondary cost element if exist; than u can't create secondry cost element in KA06. than u go for KA01.

Hi,

First check the GL account in FS00. If it exists, then you cannot create as a secondary cost element. With this you can create it as a primary cost element by KA01.

I use t.code fs00 to check my account 800100 which doesn't exist in my G/L account. Is there a way to bypass this error and create the secondary cost element 800100?

for secondary cost element, please go through t.code KA06.

for primary cost element , you have to go through t.code KA01.

Primary cost element only create with reference GL code. but for secondary c.elem different number range which you can maintain. So, don't try to create secondary cost element with refer. your GL code 800100
