Extending the logon widget

Hello to everyone, my name is Cristian and i am part of Seidor Crystalis.

At the moment we're in the process of implementing a project that includes a SAP Hana Cloud Portal, i'm having some issues regarding the extensibility and/or customization of the widget Login/Logon of the Portal.

I managed to retrieve the js code but i'm unable to compile it in the SAP Webide as a standalone application.

I have experience with HTML5 and SAPUI5 (with xml views), but seems like i can't retrieve more than just the js code.

Long story short, i would like to know if theres any way to get the Logon Widget source code or to modify this, in order to make it more appealing for the design ideas we had in mind.

Also, is there anyway to work with the cloud portal, not with layout editor but instead with code?

Sorry for my broken english, i'm not a native speaker but i have no trouble understanding any responses that i may get.

Hi Cristian,

The best option would be to create a custom widget that fits you unique design and uses the Cloud Portal Login/ Logout API. You can find more details on Cloud Portal APIs in the online help.

Would be interesting to learn more about your project (use case, how many users etc.).

Ifat.

Good evening, Ifat. We've a project that consists in three applications. Approve orders, review bills and inventory.

Its a supplier portal developed in the cloud for a client that really wants to be the first company with a cloud solution in South America.

My partner in the job, asked me to test all the functionalities that we are going to setup in our client in order to sell a fully tested solution, which i did. I had no trouble developing the sapui5 apps and deploying them in the cloud.

But a solution is not all about functionalities but also about security, and our solution needs a way to log-in the suppliers. I though i had my fix when i found the log-on widget plus the trust configuration in the hanacloud platform, but i encountered two troubles.

1. I dont really understand the sintaxis of the predefined opensocial widgets (i don't know how to create an openwidget like those)

2. I don't know how to extend the Log-on widget, which i think its a really great widget that fulfills all our login needs but needs a few design tweaks in order to be more appealing for our customers.

So, thats whats happening, if i could get some help about those two issues i would be really happy.

Tl;dr: Our portal is working fine but our login widget may be ugly and i wanna make it cuter but can't.

EDIT: Wrote a sentence wrong, i don't know how to create an openwidget like those*.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing the information. As mentioned before, you cannot extend the portal out of the box logon widget. Alternatively, we provide the APIs described in my previous reply to design your own logon/ logoff widgets.

To learn how to develop an OpenSocial widget, please refer to the online help.

In the upcoming release of Cloud Portal (planned for end of December), we have completely changed the technology and the way applications are running in the portal. If your implementation just started I recommend to evaluate the option to build the supplier portal on top of the new release.

For more information see this blog:

we will publish the new documentation and detailed blogs soon.

Regards,

Ifat.
