IMG & CTS projects collect changes: an IMG project represents SAP SM project in one development system. CTS project represents an IMG project in one client.

    IMG project

The IMG project is created from and identifiable in the SAP Solution Manager system in project administration. However, it’s created on and lives within the development system of the assigned logical component. The IMG project groups changes made in the development system into a single project, which is linked to and controlled by the SAP Solution Manager project. If your project has multiple landscapes, an IMG project must be created for each development system of the associated logical components.

    CTS project

The CTS project is a container in the logical system that bundles transport requests that belong to a single IMG project. A logical system is represented by a system ID: client combination (e.g., DSM:110). A CTS project is created by SAP Solution Manager for each logical system. The CTS project separates itself from the system when the task list is completed and is no longer available after that point
