Hello,
We are running BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1, the version of the Desktop Intelligence client we are using is 12.7.1.2131.
A problem we have encountered is if you double-click a Desktop Intelligence document (*.rep) on a Windows 8.1 Enterprise machine, it always launches in the same instance of Desktop Intelligence that you have open.
However if you double-click a Desktop Intelligence document (*.rep) on a Windows 7 Enterprise computer it always opens a new instance of Desktop Intelligence.
Most Windows 8.1 Enterprise users want every Desktop Intelligence document to open in a new instance.
Is anyone able to advise what setting is controlling this behavior? I cannot see anything within 'Tools' -> 'Options', so I'm wondering if its a registry key.
Thanks
Stuart
To clarify, I'm talking about the difference of behavior using Desktop Intelligence using Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, when double-clicking a *.rep document, when you already have a Desktop Intelligence document open.
With Windows 7, if you double-click another *.rep document with Desktop Intelligence already open, another instance of Desktop Intelligence starts up.
Using Windows 8.1, following the same steps, both *.rep documents will open within the same Desktop Intelligence window.

Hi Stuart,
You can check with the enterprise mode. Click on Menu bar tool button and select enterprise mode. If it works then well and good.
secondly
you will need to do some registry editing to use it, but it should be fairly straightforward. Please perform the steps below.
say some path.xml
Thanks
Sanjay

Thanks for the reply Ajay.
I tried changing the setting 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' to 'Windows 7' or 'Windows XP (Service Pack 3)' for the Desktop Intelligence exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\busobj.exe) without success.
Any other ideas out there?
Cheers
Stuart
