Specification Upload using DAT

I am facing few issues while uploading DAT file for Property Tree.

1. I deleted all old characteristics for property and tried re-importing, how ever while re-importing it is not accepting

ANZST 1

ANZDZ

values as Number of Chars and decimals from DAT file. It keeps the old data only.

2. Also it says unit of measurement mm does not exists , however there is such a unit of measurement

and if i try CT04 it accepts mm.

Any suggestions welcome

Thanks and regards

    Hi Niketan,

I think the issue might be a different definition of the UoMs "mm" or " (Inch) between the both systems.

If you can relay assign it in both systems to a characteristic in CT04 please double check if the technical key (MESHI) for "mm" and INCH is the same in both systems. Make sure both units are assigned to the same dimensions in both systems - and that the have identical translations.

You can check this with transaction CUNI.

    Hope this helps

    Dear Niketan

it i s not easy to judge what is going wrong without having access to the "full" "Dat" file and content

The best approach to handle your issues might be this:

    a.) use one specification

b.) maintain data in property/VAT as needed

c.) do an export of the data using "standard export" and analyze the content of this "dat" file

This will help in my opion for 1.) and 2.); for 1.): this is a kind of "special" (as I am not exectuing import for long time; this is what i can remember)

a.) the "user" during import is "important": this user does have a "profile"; sometimes you get "interesting" results based on this profile and the content of the "dat" file; especially any data of type " "date" or "floating poitn" (as e.g. 1.0) can give ries to issues

    C.B.

    Hi Niketan.

    3 points,

    1. To analyze, why the same things you are able to do on CG02 screen, but not through import functionality; the best way is the suggestion of 'export' given by C.B.
    2. You might be able to give unit of 'mm' in CT04, but to be sure, you need to try in the value assignment type to check if it allows there. If it allows in VAT, then only issue to be searched in .DAT file as explained by C.B. Sometimes, you can give more decimal places in CT04 directly, but there are inherent limitations in EHS VAT e.g. composition values.
    3. You mentioned 'It keeps the old data only'. Are you checking 'Overwrite file' box while doing .DAT upload in CG3Z? (If your file name remains same)

    Hope it helps.

    Regard,

    Pavan
