How to close the REOPEN container number in SAP ME 6.0

Hello,

We often need reopen a closed container number, and remove all the SFCs, and afterwards we would like to close or delete this reopen container number, but due to no SFCs assigned, the system throws the exception.

Is there a way that I can close or delete the reopen empty container number?   Because for my understanding, the reopen emtpy container number is never being archived, it remains into the WIP database all the times.

Thanks & regards,

Leon

Hi Leon,

There is no way to delete or archive an empty container.

As a workaround you can place there some fake SFC(s) and archive it.

Hi Evgeniy,

Can I understand this is a bug of the system? I do not see a business scenario that you do not allow to delete the empty container number?

thanks & regards,

Hi Leon,

I do not know what is the rational behind this design. And from my side I also do not see any reasons why it is not deletable object.

Hi Leon,

This feature is not covered by the original design. So, this is a pure enhancement. If you address it via SAP ME Consulting team, it might be considered for a future implementation.

Hi Leon,

You may also consider Customer Connection Program:

As long as 4 other customers vote for the same enhancement and you adopt it, the feature is likely to be implemented.
