Issues with transport targets in SLD during upgrade from 7.1 to 7.4 dual stack

Dear Experts ,

We are doing an upgrade project , in which SAP PI is getting upgraded from 7.1 version to 7.4 dual stack version.

We have planed to import interfaces from Production of existing PI 7.1 server to Development server of new PI 7.4 (dual stack)version.

We are using tpz file export import method.

As always, we have set the transport targets.(Prod being source here and dev being target).

I have done such transport in one of my previous projects where I moved objects from prod of one landscape to dev of another(during demerger), but at that time both the source and target PI systems were 7.1 version, but this time source is 7.1 but target is 7.4.

I am getting this error while importing the configuration objects from prod to dev.

"Import failed because of the business system transfer of object Communication Component | DCP: Obligatory transport target for business system DCP not found in System Landscape Directory See error logs for details"

Here DCP is source BS.

    Hello Dilip,

going by the error description, you have to transport SLD objects before transporting Directory objects, and offcourse configure the transport rules for source and target business systems

    I hope it helps.

    Hello Dilip,

Instead of moving from production,Why don't you try moving from Quality.

and also maintaing source in the Dev SLD.

    Hi Dilip,

    • Make sure you maintain the transport target for DCP (DCP->DCD) in development server PI 7.4 SLD.
    • If you make any changes to the SLD, make sure you do the clear SLD data cache before you import the transport.
