SHLF_EXP_QUANTITY() function not found

Hello,

I just came across a SNP macro which uses a  function called SHLF_EXP_QUANTITY().

I searched for this function on help.sap.com --SNP functions-- SNP Functions - Planning Area Administration - SAP Library

I did not find this function anywhere also it is poorly documented over internet.

Where can I get information about this function.

Thanks.

Harshad M

It is in online help:

SCM v7.0 OnLine Help:  SCM -> APO -> SNP -> SNP Run -> Considering Shelf Life Data in SNP -> Display of Shelf Life Data

Hello Kenneth,

Thank you for the link.

I had already gone through that page but then I couldn't comprehend that this page is exactly talking about the function in question as it does not mention SHLF_EXP_QUANTITY() anywhere.

I was wondering where did author of macro got it from. I can still say it is poorly documented as I see it is mentioned NOWHERE or my understand that it is a function is incorrect and it is not a function but something else.

Thanks.

You are correct they / SAP does not spell it out.

But it does explain the (4) macros used by shelf life.

You just need to use your logic to determine the macro name for each of these.

The system uses macros to calculate the following key figures that contain shelf life information:

●      Expiring Quantity

Displays the total quantity of stock or receipt elements in a bucket that are no longer usable from this bucket on.

●      Projected Wastage Quantity

Displays the portion of the quantity displayed in key figure Expiration Quantity that needs to be discarded in the current demand situation.

●      Stock on Hand (Shelf Life)

Displays the total quantity of stock or receipt elements in a bucket that have not been consumed by demand up to, and including this bucket. Consumption follows the shelf life logic that stock or receipt elements must meet the shelf life requirements of demand.

●      Supply Shortage (Shelf Life)

Displays the total quantity of demand elements in a bucket that have not consumed stock or receipt elements up to, and including this bucket. Consumption follows the shelf life logic that stock or receipt elements must meet the shelf life requirements of demand.

Hi all,

I'm also working in the same space and trying to get the standard SAP Shelf life planning book macros to work, and these macros are having no effect.. So there must be something wrong in the data it is reading.. Maybe I am missing something but I don't know what I am missing without being able to work out what these functions are trying to find.

So similar to the start of this post, I am trying to find out what the function is doing... is it just reading some data or is it running a calculation based on material master shelf life dates post manufacture date?

Hi,

Sorry I didn't.. I changed contracts before we got into the build phase and never got to this.
