Material Master Screen Sequence

Former Member

Hi Expert,

We are having major problem in our project..Let me tell the background for the same..In our project the development system consist with 2 clients for example :-DE 130,DE 100..

Client DE 100,is used for functional testing (functional consultant)where as client DE 130 used for developer..

Right now the issue is Table T133A in Client DE 130  (Logical Screens: Attributes) is not sync with Client 100.Table T133A  does not have first 6 sequence number in DE 130 whereas all the sequence number is present in client 100..

I have checked several post in SCN regarding screen sequence of material master and checked possible options under the path

IMG-> Logistics general-> Material master-> Configuring material master->Define structure of data screens for each screen sequence.

But I am unable to trace out the reason of the mismatch between those two clients..I have attached screen shot of table T133A corresponding to client DE 130 and DE 100..

Kindly review the screen shot and advice me for the necessary steps so that the mismatch can be traced out..Also let me know how this  table is getting updated..Let me  know if further information is required ...Thanks in advance...

regards,

Baidyanath Pal

By what measure did you arrive at the conclusion that this was an SAP Support issue? It's a custom configuration and there were enough suggestions already given to resolve this.

Any more suggestion regarding this...

How many options do you need to solve 1 problem?

Some people spend more time in searching for alternative ways than it would be needed to tackle the issue with one that was already suggested.

But yes, there are ways, but it can't be assumed that they are allowed in your system or even setup that they can work.

Go into OMT3B and select from menu Utilities > Comparison

this way allows to compare the customizing of 2 systems, it is even possible to copy the missing customizing into the calling system. Precondition: your Basis team has setup an RFC connection and you have authority to execute it.

You can as well open a session with your 130 client and another with your 100 client and re-type the missing entries manually.

Both ways will usually create transport requests. your decision if you transport them or just delete the transport (if you have authority to do that)

If it was a SAP customizing which was deleted, then it can usually brought back from client 000, your Basis team should know how to do that.

Thanks all for the valuable response...

Here is the story..

DE 130 is where Customization/ABAP development happen then it is transported to DE 100..Material master screen sequence (screen shot already attached ) was created in DE 130 and then it was transported to DE 100.The customization happened during implementation time(long time back)..After that no issue was observed as such.Presently we are facing a issue while building a logic referring the table T133A .T 133A is the table of Logical Screen Attributes that basically stored the assignment and information of Screen Sequence ,screen no,GUI function,GUI status,Screen Description(e.g.Basic Data 1).We have observed that screen sequence Z1 does not have first 6 screen number(01,02,03,04,05,06) in DE 130.Due to some reason it has be deleted..Now the screen sequence Z1 is having screen no starting from 07 that is stored in T133A...Hence we want to create first 6  screen no for screen sequence Z1..We have checked OMT3B and OMT3E but we are not getting any clue to include first 6 screen no under screen sequence Z1..

It shouldn't be a problem to transport the missing entries, just follow the instruction given in OS note    38298 - Transport function for gen. table entries

So are you saying that 130 is your "golden client" (i.e. the ultimate source of all the configuration from where it is moved to QA/PRD) and now the configuration in it is incorrect? What do you have in QA/PRD then?

There is not the whole lot of options to correct the configuration though. Either you need to do that manually or copy from another client/system. You might want to discuss this with a Basis admin.

Yes the entries are missing in golden client De 130..Rest of all client the entries are present..

Is there any way of customization so that the missing entries cam be added in golden client ..

As I mentioned earlier the config happened long time back (implementation phase) hence don't idea about the transports..

The doubt is how those entries are created???

Since it was noted that one client is used by developers and another for functional configuration then are configuration changes actually allowed in the development client? If they are not allowed then, naturally, you'd see this kind of mismatch, unless you are moving all the transports from one client to another diligently. And in such case you probably shouldn't test in dev client, so configuration mismatch does not really matter.

Hi Baidyanath,

Just now I found that, You can use 'Extended Transport control (STMS)'.

The Extended Transport Control (STMS) is another way to establish a client-specific transport route within SAP.

Kindly see the content help link :Extended Transport Control - Software Logistics - SAP Library

Hi Baidyanath,

Kindly update to your below mentioned request with basis team

Quote all your Transport Request Number ( CR - Customized request number - Ex: ECCK01,02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09,10) in order copy or move it from DE 100 to DE 130).

Functional Consultant for Functional Testing: DE100

Technical Consultant for Developer             :DE 130

In Addition to that kindly do the following if you have permit :

Check SCC3 - Client copy/Transport LogAnalysis and SU53 - Evaulate Authorization check ( Find out any missing authorization )

Hope all your queries will be solved.

Regards,

Vivek

In which system/client do you the customizing and how is it getting into the those clients that you mentioned?

you may need to check the transports

and also check the change logs for the customizing everywhere, in your customizing client and in both clients that you mentioned.
