Extension Field as Key Figure

Hi expersts,

I added an extension field availability with list values available, booked and sold to Product object and Product Master Data data source. Now I want to make a a heat map report by product availability (a mesh report common for appartment sellers).

How can I use availability extension field as a key figure?

I tried to create a restricted key figure based on counter with fixed restriction by value of availability, but it is not possible to add it. Here are screenshots:

Nadezha,

From your screen shots it looks like you have created a Characteristic and not a Key figure.

You should first create the Extension field as a Key figure from Business Analytics workcenter or from inside the Report by clicking on ADD fields button when you are under Business Analytics- Your Report - Click Add Fields - Click Key Figure and - Own Key Figure.

Create the field as key Figure first and then you can use it as a key Figure in the Report.

Hi Ankur,

Thank you for a helpful answer. The only problem is that I can only create extension field with type amount or perrcent this way. But availability should be filled in by the user in readable way like available/booked/sold, not as 1/2/3.

I can't create a restricted key figure based on availability characteristic. No value is added into restriction after I select it. I can't create a calculated key figure either because there is only counter key figure available to work with, but I need availability status for calculations.

Cick on the button 'Set Fixed Value Selection' after populating the Characteristics and then based on the characteristics (Availability as per your screen shot), it will give you the option to select the Fixed value.

Try this and let me know if that works.

I did exactly that:

- selecting

- click Ok and get this result

- and the same error again

So I guess something is going wrong.

Please check the Data source which you have selected if it contains the field Availability with a value Available in it or not.

If its a Custom field, ensure that it has been extended to the data source first, looks like the feild value is not assigned.

And there are also values to choose from when setting fixed value:

But I don't know any other ways to check this.

hi Nadezhda,

I am assuming that you have created an extension field of type list, with these values. When you tried to define a restricted key figure on the field Counter, did you select one of the values from the options or did you type it in? If you have selected and the restriction is not retained, then please do raise an incident and we will take a look into your tenant. There is no additional set-up needed.

Yes, I created a list field and selected one of its values (not typed) during restriction selection. I have already created an incident, so I hope for a quick resolution.
