Hi all,

I have a extrange behavior in Sybase Central. For one of the servers it doesn't display the user databases. The rest of the servers are displayed fine, all have the same versión installed.

Anyone that ever happend?

I'm remembering a bug in the sp_who stored procedure that would cause it to not display databases that were owned by a user that didn't exist in syslogins (i.e. sysdatababases.suid did not join to syslogins.suid).  Is that the case on this server?

Bret,

That sounds like a good guess.

I would just run the installmaster script in the server exhibiting the problem.

That will recreate all the system procedures, which might solve the problem.

Hi,

what Bret means and what I've also seen, is that each database must have a valid owner.

So the suid in sysdatabases must also be found in syslogins.

The following query returns databases and owners. Here you should see valid owners and not "null":

select name, suser_name(suid) as owner from master..sysdatabases

Best regards,

Hi Aurelio,

Problem was in the relation between syslogins and the database owner.

It happens in the last versión of Sybase Central 3.2

Maybe not pose the question correctly.

That Adaptive Server Enterprise version you have installed and

you are using Sybase Central or Sybase Control Center?

Last versions:

1. Sybase Central 6.0 and

2. SAP Control Center 3.3...

Hi Aurelio,

I am using Sybase Central 6.0.

Let me tell you that the syslogins information did not match with sysusers from the database. We mapped it again and the situation solved.

I ran the query and in all databases the owner is NULL!.

We are going to change the dbowner in each database.

Thanks to all!
