Pls tell me the Roles and Responsibilities of  SAP BO?

Usually the roles and responsibilities depends on the structure of the Team,

usually in general the consultant   either will be in to development or in to support.

Development

it is core development area and here the roles will be depend on the different tools on which consultant is working like

universe developer(IDT/UDT)

report developer (WEBI/CRYSTAL reports)

dashboard developer(design studio/xcelsuis)

and general activities done by them

-requirement gathering

-developing and designing reports/dashboard as per the requirement

-testing the reports

-getting UAT from the business.

-mapping the developed finalized  to the portal.

SUPPORT

support will usually consists of day to day maintenance activities of the developed reports and projects.

-maintenance of Bi launchpad & CMC

-resolving the issues/incidence came from the business in the developed project and reports

-all the admin activities and managing CMC(central management console)

-maintenance and checking server and server groups

-managing security profiles.

-up gradations, migration activities related to the system.

-managing folders,documents,reports,dashboards, lo connections, web services  and universe in repositories.

in short these are the common  activities will be happening as per the client requirements.

it may change from client to client.

But interview point of view am telling all these points ,my profile not getting shortlisted .

Hi Karthik,

Support and development

1. Creating the report(Webi, Crystal), Universe, Dashboard.

2. Enhancement on same.

3. little changes like change the font, add the column, add the filter, add new tab in the report and etc.

4. Scheduling and publication of the report.

Some time developer self do Transport only on test system  and on other system BO Admin will take care.

Development:

Created and maintained BO Universes fromSAP or Non SAP.

Created interactive XCelsius dashboards and charts and graphs, metric analytics with Xcelsius

Create Webi Report with customer interaction.

Admin:

1)Configure Servers

2)Scheduling the reports

3)Create Users and User groups

4)Create User access levels and provide the access to users

5)Start and Stop the Servers

6)Clone the Servers

7)Organizing the Objects(Delete,Move & edit)

8)Managing BOBJ License
