Dear Experts,

I am facing issue with Arabic text, I have source as Oracle and Target as Data Service Data Store.

When I am seeing in Sql Developer Tool, I could able to see the Arabic texts in the columns where it is given as Arabic, but when I am "View Data" in data store in data services, Its all coming as ??????????? (reverse question marks).

Even I tried to load in template table by  making the Options->Miscellaneous->"Use NVARCHAR as VARCHAR columns in supported database"

but still the error is coming.

I tried to change the Language : ARABIC and CODE PAGE: CP1252,CP1256, CP1257, UTF-8 and all other options but still I could not able to see the ARABIC texts in Datastore "View Data" and target table.

I also tried to change the option in Tools->Options->Designer->Language "Preferred Viewing Language" to Arabic, but nothing is working.

Can you experts, suggest me how to resolve this issue.

Thanks,

A Sustainer

Hi Arun,

I tried Code Page  - 1256, its not working.

I tried using Locale ---Tools->Options, still its not working.

I am able to create a odbc connection but unable to use that in my data store, its giving error as ORA-12170 time out.

I create Data Store Connection ->

Datastore Type -  Database

Database Type - ODBC

Datasource Name: As given in ODBC Connection

user name and password.

When creating a odbc connection from DNS i am able to create a odbc connection to oracle (source) and connection in successful.

What could be the issue?

Thanks,

Asustainer

Can you make sure if you are able to use tnsping command.

Make sure that the tnsnames.ora has correct entries
