Key Figure controls for a version per template

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I am currently working on a project where we have multiple versions enabled for a template. Currently our template is showing empty key figures for some versions without any data.

My question is, would it be possible to remove some key figures (other than hiding) from a version depending on the template we create.

Please let me know if more information is necessary and I will provide as much as I can.

Thank you for your time,

Louis

Hi Louis,

In EPM Sheet Options ->General tab you have several options to manage no data and zero values. For example you can select <hide empty> which automatically hides any row that has no data (acts like the standard Excel functionality Hide empty). As the rows are just hidden you can at any time unhide and edit an empty combination. Moreover if you refresh your report and some of your entries now contain data, they will be automatically unhidden.

Hi Alecsandra,

I understand that this is an option, but one of the reasons we want to control which key figures per version per template is due to us bringing in a lot of unnecessary data because we may need the version to have a set of key figures for one version and another version to not show the set of key figures depending on our template.

EG: We have a template with two versions, Version 1 and Version 2. For this particular template we would like to have Version 1 to show Prior Year and Prior Prior Year and Version 2 to only show Prior Year. However, the template shows both Prior Year and Prior Prior Year on both versions regardless of whether data is there or not.

Thanks for your response!,

Louis

Hey Louis

there is no excel-template-depending versions in the system!

If you create KF in a version, you can in principle show it in any template

A template is just a possible starting point to display data in the excel planning view

But if you want to have only specific KF in your template, than just hide them (meaning to hide in all versions icl Base Version), or you create more versions to control, or do as Alecs suggested
