Hi,
I installed Crystal Reports 2013 Trial Version yesterday and had it installed on my laptop. I am trying to create a report for the ERP system that our company is using. The report uses a view called "xxxxx" as it's data source. However as prerequisite of our ERP system, I have to change the data source name to "xxxxx\\". But the problem is when I tr to change the name of the data source to "xxxxx\\", I get below message. How do I stop getting this message?
Appreciate your help!

Hi Abhilash,
Thank you for your reply.
I had come across that post earlier. However it does not answer my question. The answer itself is very confusing. The links which the the author had mentioned don't even work.
I also have Crystal Report XI and in that version I am able to add "\\" to report data source aliases.
Regards,
Charith
I found the solution for this...
Make the following changes in the regedit.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\Database] "InvalidAliasCharList"="!(){}"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\Database] "InvalidAliasCharList"="!(){}"
Thank you everyone for your help!
Charith

Hi Charith
I did the same changes to the registry. However, I didn't have the path
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\Database] so I did the changes to
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions] and
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseServer]
but no success, Please please help me...
