Hello,
We are running EP6 SP2.
What tools are people using for monitoring - other than what is provided under "Monitoring" in the portal. What we need is a way to monitor what users have accessed which iViews, to monitor network performance, and to recreate errors the users experience. Let me know what the pros and cons are of using the particular vendor package you are using.
Thank You,
Melissa
Hi Melissa,
see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/5a/84b83b3683094be10000000a11402f/frameset.htm for an overview of the standard toolset within this area.
Hope it helps

Hi Detlev,
The documentation you sent me to is for Netweaver04. We are still running EP6 SP2. The monitoring tools in EP6 SP2 do not show you an accurate picture of how many users are logged on because users that are logged off are still shown as logged on for some time after they log off.
Also, the EP6 SP2 monitoring tools don't give details about names of iViews that have been hit by how many people in a certain timeframe. I'm thinking there must be tools by other vendors that integrate well with SAPs portal and show statistics by iView name and graphs showing trends.
Does this make sense?
Thank you anyway for trying to help.
Regards,
Melissa
Hi Melissa,
> users that are logged off are still shown as logged on
> for some time after they log off
This should only be the case if the logoff wasn't done explicitely (and so the session could not be destroyed). Otherwise it's a bug and you could open an OSS message.
> must be tools by other vendors

If you delete the word "well", there are. Some customers are using some, but I'm really not aware of the names or have the experience in that to advise some tool. The problem is that access URLs are really "encoded" for standard http statistic tools, for example.
Check out the whole corresponding tools for SP2 at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ep60sp2/helpdata/en/5a/84b83b3683094be10000000a11402f/frameset.htm - definitely they are less informative than on NW04
Hope it helps
Detlev
