Need a check point on SAP to ensure PPAP

Dear friends

Greetings,

I am basically into MM, but I am asked to carryout the following on urgent basis. I need your help immediately.

The need is to have check point in SAP to ensure that PPAP sign off completed for purchased parts before releasing serial production order to suppliers.

The reason this will prevent the Non-PPAP purchased parts entry into serial production.

Please advise me the procedures.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

Did you check the below threads ?

How to configure PPAP in QM | SCN

SAP Approval of PPAP of Finished Parts | SCN

Parts Production Approval Process (PPAP's) PRocess | SCN

In your case, you may want to perform a quality inspection on all purchased parts, before using them in production.

You can use plant specific material status field to control which parts can be used in production and which cannot. Ex. By default for all new materials plant specific material status can be X which prevents them from using in production, only once QM inspection is cleared you set status to Y which can be used in production.

    Hope this helps !

    Best Regards,

    Ameya B.
