SAPLumira.exe has stopped working

Former Member

Hi,

I'm getting the error "SAPLumira.exe has stopped working" always on the second time when I want to upload an image or load an excel file from my PC.

I've tried to uninstall the Lumira, delete the content of "sapvi" folders and then made a fresh install. However I still get the error and Lumira crashes.

I'm on a Windows 8.1 & 64-bit system which is updated regularly.

Lumira Desktop version is 1.29.3.

What could be the cause of this error? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hello Erdem,

I understand it has been awhile. But I face the same issue like you did - only with Version 1.31.

I tried everything described in this thread but no success. For now, I circumvent the problem by closing and opening Lumira between every Excel DP.

Have you found a prettier solution to this? Thanks a lot

Best Regards

Hi Robert,

Running the Lumira by "Run as Administrator" option helped only a few times but somehow it was not a permenant solution.

It was so annoying that I had to format and re-install Windows. Then everything was fine 😐

Erdem

Hi Robert/Erdem,

The option of simple uninstall and re installation of Lumira was able to resolve this issue. Especially since the version 1.29.3 was slightly buggy.

Thank you,

Hi Shankar,

I see some lines like below. This is the only thing I've noticed when activted TraceLog.

Do you have any idea what to do about it?

Hi Erdem.

Are you on a partner or trial license? Can you check if you have a valid license and if possible reenter the License (if the tool opens for you).

If the tool does not open. Can you try changing the date/time in your system to some old date (say 2014) and then try to open the tool and see if it opens and then enter your license key. Revert the date back and then open the tool again.

Hi Shankar,

After the fresh installation, I've entered up to date trial key which I got from support portal. Now it says that I've 75 days remaining.

Do you still think it's related to licence key?

Thanks!

If you are using the latest trial key, then i dont think it should be any issues. If not please download the latest trial keys from the marketplace and update them in the tool.

I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with the keycode. E.g.; the messages you see in the log, are pretty standard - I've seen a number of logs and this never mean anything at all. Did you try my suggestion of reinstalling after the deletion of the folders?

Are you local Admin?

Try to reinstall by right clicking on the install exe and choosing "Run as Administrator" - even if you are the admin.

Hi Ludek,

Before posting this thread first I've uninstalled Lumira and then deleted two sapvi folders.

The folder "AppData\Local\SAP\Lumira" does not event exist.

To be sure about the reinstallation I repeated it again now. However the same error is still there.

And yes, I'm using an admin account.

Thanks,

Erdem

Can you try to install on another computer? Preferably one not imaged by your IT?

And you do have 4GB RAM?

What is the datasource you are using?

I have 12GB RAM, i7 1.9, SSD etc. all working on a 64-bit Win 8.1. (Lumira is also 64 bit)

All other client tools are working fine.

Even when I'm selecting excel as a datasource, first attempt is fine. However when I do the same for the second time, it crashes the lumira.exe.

It's also same when running on BW datasources and selecting images from my PC.

Thanks again.

Erdem, since you have BW, etc., you also have free phone support. I'd like to suggest that you create a phone incident on this please.

Hi,

Tammy, I guess that would work as expected since you and many others are not suffering the same case

Ludek, thank you, the requirements are just fine.

Hi Erdem

Resources may be one thing to look at. See the SAP Lumira, desktop edition Installation Guide

And from the PAM:

If the above check out, try the following:

  • Uninstall Lumira.
  • Then manually remove the following folders:
    • C:\Users\<user>\.sapvi
    • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\SAP\Lumira
    • C:\Users\Public\sapvi
  • Reinstall Lumira.
  • NOTE: You may need to reenter any license / keycode information

Erdem - that is strange; I haven't seen that in a while. Is it possible to install on another machine?  It sounds like you did the basic uninstall / reinstall.
