Warranty Process for Spare Parts

Dear Team, We are procuring spare parts from External Vendor and supplying to our branches. In case of any defects, we are getting the defective part from branches and sending the replacement part back to them. On the other side, we are replacing the defective part with the vendor. This is the process in our legacy system. Please let me know the step by step warranty configuration in SAP. Also, am new to this warranty process. Request your guidance accordingly. Thanks in advance. Regards, Vinoth

    Dear,

I request you to have a equipment master for this in SAP-PM with respect to serial number assignment , so that in PM we have warranty mapping provision. So that you can track every time you replace the part in that equipment.

Make sure that combination of material and serial number has a n equipment master for this purpose.

    Regards,

    Pardhu

    Below is my understanding

    1. All spares where you need track they should be serialized materials. so during GR system also create equipment and all movements can be tracked

    2. You can leverage EAM Warranty Management functionality. But you need to some custom developments https://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm700_ehp01/helpdata/en/49/45fdf3e1da2222e10000000a42189d/content.htm?frameset=/en/a0/228dc6546f413da0df6c398a7af6c4/frameset.htm&current_toc=/en/a0/228dc6546f413da0df6c398a7af6c4/plain.htm&node_id=3&show_children=true#jump3

you can also explore more links in EAM. for starters
