Hello,
Is there a way to create a trial balance in SAP that excludes items without a cost center or profit center? Items without either would be our internal orders for capital settlements that I want to exclude from our standard trial balance. I can do this by exporting data and manipulating in Excel. However, is there anyway to do this in SAP?
Thank you in advance experts.

Hello Laksen,
Absolutely you can via the Report Painter. In the Report Painter, you design a report with columns and rows. In the columns, you specify the Debit, Credit and Balance. In the rows, you specify the GL Account range or individual and you include the Cost Center range only. So, those without Cost Center will not appear.
On the other hand, with NewGL, all FICO transactions will always have a Profit Center even if it's a dummy or constant profit center. So, in this case perhaps you will exclude the constant/dummy profit center from the range in the report rows.
Cheers!

Thanks all. Will see what's possible using BI.

Hi,
Everything is possible, but don't call it 'trial balance', as your result will be accounting lines without profit/cost centre information, which is far away from being a financial report and/or trial balance. Trial balance report presumes full financial picture, including balances for B/S accounts, which are not assigned at all to CO objects.

Hi
You can try writing a query in BW. However, if you exclude such items, how will your trial balance tallied from accounting perspective?
