Assign material to work order or work center

Hi all,

Could anybody please suggest how to assign material to work center or work order.

Hello,

Material can not be assign to the work center directly in standard SAP.

Material can be assign to the operation of routing which contain the work center.

First define the Bill of material in CS01 the create the routing in CA01 here in operation you can assign the work center and components(material). And when you create the work order routing gets copied in order along with work center and components/material.

Hello Arpitha Karuna,

     I don't understand,the material you said is finished goods, or component.In SAP, assign material to work center is impossible,but via BOM. You can use Tcode:CS01 to create the BOM, and add components into it.

You can assign components to order operations.You have component tab, assign the with respect to operation.

If you have any concern its better to post screen where you got stucked, so that it hlep us to analyse your situation

I'm just a fresher who is working on plant maintenance. My present progress is I'm getting a notification and respective work order. Now I need to assign materials to that order. I could not find any configurations to do the same.

Hello Arpitha,

For Plant Maintenance Order , you can directly assign Material to Operation of Work order.

Generally speaking , there would not be any BOM for Plant Maintenance order( Thogh it is possible to have equipment BOM), hence After creating work order , go to operation tab & select it & assign any material defined in Material master.... you can also define qty requireed to do maintenance.

This way , you have assigned material to Mainteance Workcenter
