Hi Experts, appreciate if you could please clear some stuff here for me..
I have a requirement to work with operation splits. Just to keep it simple, I will take a easy example
Lets say I have an operation 0010 and I created just 1 split for this because I just have one individual capacity.
operation 0010 - start date dec 1 and end date dec 2
capacity requirements generated = 48 hrs
I created a split
split 1 - start date dec 3
capacity requirements = 48 hrs
if I dispatch operation 0010, it consumes 48 hrs of the capacity from dec 1 to dec 2
If I dispatch split 1, it consumes 48 hrs of the capacity from dec 3 to dec 4
but my real capacity is just 48 hrs, in the above example I am filling up 2 * 48 hrs which is incorrect, because for other production order, the capacity will be shown as overload..
so where am I am wrong conceptually?
any help

Bharamankar and Amit.. Let me try to be clear
I understand that we can dispatch operation and also dispatch splits of the operation. I also understand that the dates of the split doesnt have to match with its corresponding operation as the system will not do the check (as per OSS notes and help).
OSS note also says that we need to first dispatch operation and then dispatch splits. if I disptach operation on a date and then disptach split of that operation on a different date (as system allows to have 2 diff dates), isn't that incorrect? because the same work is being done on two different dates and I am blocking capacity on 2 different dates...

Hello,
System displays the actual number of splittings on the operation detail view "Splitting". please check.
If the number of splittings entered does not match the number of the individual capacities stored in the work center of the operation for the capacity relevant to scheduling, the system uses the smaller value of the two values for the calculation (Note 101308) - Number splittings during required splitting
