Hi.
Totally green here and wondering what offering SAP CRM has in regards to Microsoft documents.
Are they stored in the SAP CRM system (inclusive)?
Or does SAP CRM require a third party document management system (link to an external system)?

Are you referring to the attachment assignment blocks that are available in many UI views?
They can be stored on the same CRM server or a content repository server, usually owned by basis. The user would not be able to tell any difference in the UI.

Thanks Glenn. I was thinking more like you are working on some Excel spreasheets that you don´t necessarily send to the contact, yet you want to store "on" the contact or "on" the sales opportunity. Does SAP CRM store the MS Excel spreadsheet in one of its modules or doe SAP CRM require a third party document system (like Box.com, Sharepoint, Zoho docs, ...)?
