Hi,
Is it possible to connect with sapgui to a sap system over the Internet via SAPROUTER with SNC? And is there any documentation to set it up?
BR
Steven
I have the exact same question, but I'm looking for a little more information on setting up SNC. I have the connection working without SNC with the Java GUI on the internet connecting to saprouter then to the backend system.
I'm looking for a way to encrypt the connection. I'm not interested in SSO.
I know very little about SNC, and the more I read the more confused I get. Can some one tell me if what I want to do is possible, and if so, how do I do it?

Hallo Christopher!
I have been trying to find out more information too about the setting up of a connection between us and a remote client's SAP system through SAProuter.
You said that you already had a similar thing setup. Have you been able to implement SNC on it? Currently my situation is also the same - I am also trying to find out more about SNC, but the more I read, the more I get confused too
Did you find any documentation that helped you with it? If you could share it, it would really be helpful.

Sameer
Hi,
Try this link: <a href="http://service.sap.com/internetconnection">Internet Connections</a>
To use SNC with the SAPROUTER you have to use the sapcrypto library.
However the licence for this covers only internal use between customers own systems, or direct connections with SAP.
Thereby it's not allowed to be used for other connections like the one you are trying to setup i think......
So i would try talking to your SAP contact, maybe you can get a special licence for it ???
Regards
Rolf
Hey Rolf,
Excellent find. I think this will help me the most. I will try it out, speak to SAP for the license and talk to the client too about it. Maybe when the client agrees too, we can get a special license for the library like you said.
Will let you know what happens.
Thanks for the link again,
Sameer
Hi Steven,
Go through the following link:
http://sap.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/mysap-l/279472
Try the following also:
on the advanced tab, you can try something like
/H/<saprouter>/S/<portno>/H/<your-appserver>/S/3200
while <saprouter> can be an IP-address or name of your saprouter, portno is usually 3299, <your-appserver> IP-address or hostname of your app server.
For details, please use the "Help" button at the bottom left of the "Add New Connection" dialog. A description for the configuration files can be found using menu "Help->Help content" on the "SAP GUI for Java" window, chapters 6 and 7.
Hope this helps you.
