communication error 14

Hi All,

I have successfully installed the SMP(SAP Mobile platform)3.0sp09.

I have installed the Workmanager 6.2 add-ons in the backend ERP Server with latest patches.

I have created a Agentry in SMP3.0 for workmanager.

Connection test to backend system got succeeded.

now when i am trying to open the workmanager application in workmanager client we are facing an issue as shown below:

Requesting Public Key from Server

Communications error (14)

Connection failed

Ending transmission

Please suggest me how to resolve this issue.

I have confusion on how to configure the workmanager in workmanager client, if anyone can tell me the configuration steps that will be very helpful .

Thanks & Regards,

Praveen Kumar Yayi.

It fixes the issue, the old client version 70.5.1 works now.

Thanks,

Praveen,

It looks like you are using a branded WM client from the screen shot.  What version of the Agentry client is that based on?

I would recommend downloading and installing the latest WPF client from SDK SP10 PL06 and trying using that client.  I would guess the client it too old and needs to be updated to work with the SMP3 server SP09 (due to security changes in the default settings).

Hi Bill,

i have tried to both the latest(SDK Sp10 PL06) and also the SDK Sp07PL04, both are showing the same error messages.

Thanks & Regards,

Praveen.

I encountered similar issue:

- The SMP server is SP08 PL04 (this is a clean install of SP08 and patched to PL04)

- Agentry Client versions are 70.5.1 and 70.10.5

70.5.1 client would not connect to the server (was using it connecting to SMP server of SP08 PL02), it gives error 14

70.10.5 client can connect to the server fine (uninstalled old version and installed this latest version)

Have you tested the URL in a browser to get a "I am here message"

Are you tring to connect from the same machine or over a network?

Hi stephen,

I have tested the URL in browser https://<fqdn>:8081/SAPWM and i got the message "i am here" from the both inside the server and also from  network level.

i am trying to connect to the server through the network not from the same server.

Thanks & Regards,

Is there a proxy server between the client and server?  Because the connection has a WebSocket layer.  If the proxy isn't setup for Websockets it would get stripped off and this can cause the error 14.

Also, when you bring up the "I am here page" does the certificate show any errors?  You need to make sure the certificate is installed to the "Windows Trusted Store"

There is no Proxy server between the client and server.

But  when i am try to connect to the workmanager from client in the server also not connecting same error message.

when i try to bring up the message "i am here" firstly i am getting some certificarte issue( no valued certificate found) but i just went to advanced mode and click on proceed any way then only it is showing the message.

which certificate i have to install in " windows trusted store".

thanks and regards,

praveen.

If the certificate is expired then you need to create a new one:

You can get the Certificate from the SMP Server\Configuration folder  should be called smp_crt.cer file.  Sorry, it was called "Trusted Root Certification Authorities"

Praveen,

You need to install the smp_crt.cer certificate from the SMP3 server to your windows "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" store.

Also please confirm you are using the WPF client.
