Design Studio 1.5 issue with HANA hierarchy Parent/Child

Hello,
In Design Studio, we have issues to display hierarchy Parent/Child defined in HANA Studio.

In Hana we have such definition for a team hierarchy.

We have team 5D (for 5 digits) which is the lower level and higher level is 3D.

In design studio even in the Initial View we have the ERROR displayed on above line than the lower leaf.

Did anyone found the solution in HANA Studio ?

Does you view uses an aggregation node ? or a projection ?

Is it working in analysis for office ?

Hi,

Do you have BW ?

If yes, I would advise you to create a composite on your view, assign the correct IO to the one using the hierarchy, update the hierarchy on this IO, create a query and use it in DS instead of the view.

BW hierarchies are well supported, and can be loaded from SAP.

if you don't have it ... I can't help

Thank you for your message.

I have checked but your links are not related to our issue because we have HANA SPS9.

We have identified that it could be linked to our measure.

It is a percentage considered as numerator / denominator to avoid summation.

Therefore, when we select a level 5 and a level 4 node we have an ERROR because it looks like HANA is not able to aggregate  and display along the hierarchy at the same time.

I will keep looking or even open a call to SAP.

Hi Eric,

I am facing the same issue with SAP HANA Hierarchies.

Scenario: we have simple calculation of Sales Revenue (Price * Qty) and I have a Level based Hierarchy defined for Country > State > City

when i drag Hierarchy and the Sales column in the Edit Initial Screen..  Getting the Error for Calculated column.

Wanted to know if you found any resolution for your problem.

Are you using an OLAP Connection from DesignStudio to HANA or an http CONNECTION?

I believe for not fully additive measures such as in your example one must use http connection exclusively.

Sorry for the late response,  I found the problem with my view.  Price column had a issue. The datatype in the HANA table was String / VARCHAR and I tried doing the data type conversion in the hana view before multiplying with the Quantity but the Design Studio was showing an error when i go to edit initial view.  Error: Conversion error.  I made the changes in the base Table column and the issue resolved.

I am using OLAP connection for HANA via BI 4.1 Platform
