Function location creation

Dear floks,

in my organisation same name of function location is created ,i dont want to crate same label,pls. help.

Is the description of the two functional locations is same ? system will not allow you to create f/l with same label.

You should get an error message as if same label is being created.

Label XX-XX-XXXX is already being used in labeling system Standard indicator (internal)

Message no. IL512

If it is only description of the f/l lable you can change it.

Are you using any labeling system in your company?

we are using labeling system, It is zero no  O,

Editing mask is X-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Could you kindly send me the time stamp details of those two F/Ls pls.

Some times if user opens two screens at a time and processes the same accidentally, there is a chance to update like this.We had a similar problem in MM so i thought it might the same situation for you.

Kindly let me know the log pls.

As Jogeswara rao garu suggestion , you can escalate to SAP  on this.

i got the problem,

while creating with my id ,it is allowing me to create with same FL ,

But i tried with other user id is gives error ,

what setting is missing in ID.

Hi Ganesh,

Are you using Alternate Labeling ?

Also go to OIPV and see whether the Unique field is checked, if you have not checked, then you will be able to create functional location with same ID.

Dear All,

one function location M-Z065 is already available in system,again while crating same with IL01  M-Z065,system is allowed without error.

This should not be possible. Give the IH06 output screen showing these 2 line items with M-Z065 as input into selection screen F/Locn. Quite pissible that you are ignoring some difference in these two labels, which you are treating as identical. (Like a space or a dot at the end etc). Also give the structure indicator.

See this example

ABC-ACV and ABC- ACV both can be created. Notice there is a space before ACV in the second label.

Is it 0(Numerical zero) or O alphabetical O? Kindly check some time user might be accidentally used either of this.

At this stage you can assign deletion flag for one of the F/L .

It is clearly seen both F/Locn labels are identical. There is no difficulty in identifying '0' in both. There is no 'O' here.
