Whatsapp Group Message from SAP

Hello Gurus,

Currently we are working on SAP ECC 6.0. Our Management has asked me to explore the possibility of automatically sending the day end business figures on the whatsapp group of the CEOs directly from SAP. Is that possible in SAP and if yes then what do I need to do to make it feasible?What interface I need to build and what all things I would require in terms of software and development kits?

I know I have clubbed too many questions in one post and answering all of them will be difficult for you but the truth is I have no clue as to where to start the exploration from. So any help would be appreciated.

I've only seen a couple of threads on this subject and it's related to UI5 development.

I do not believe it is possible as a Native function in SAP.

Perhaps if there is an API which Whatsapp has made available you could possibly look at integrating this via SAP PI.

To do something like that you would need an API provided. Whatsapp stated back in March there would be no API, it has not changed so far and is unlikely to change in near future. I'd suggest a more low-key solution of sending an email.

Hint: you can search Google by <keyword> + API, e.g. if I wanted to integrate Google maps I'd search for 'Google maps API'. Without an API provided by the other party we cannot do anything in SAP.

Hi Ankur,

AFAIK there is no public API/webservice yet for whatsapp that you could integrate and whatsapp is not intending to release any in near future and since it has been bought by facebook and it is no longer in whatsapp's hand.

Since whatsapp's philosophy is to store the data in native devices's memory rather than integrating it in own cloud based solution, it makes sense considering security and legal constraints.

There might be some third party application which might have collaboration with whatsapp and they give you a public API , though I could not find any, but I doubt anybody would allow to have broadcasting message api to whatsapp as it may not be legal everywhere.

So IMO it may not be possible yet.

I am also interested. Let me know if you find any.
