Multi-Value Parameter Design Studio to HANA Calculation View

We are working with Design Studio 1.6.3 on HANA SPS11. We are having trouble passing multi value input parameters from Design Studio to HANA SPS11 within a graphical view. We have decided to write an SQL View on top of our current HANA calculation view in order to allow Design Studio to pass the multi-value parameters. Would you have a suggestion or contact that may be able to help us creating the scenario in the HANA calculation view?

  • Hi Dana,

I'm interested to know why you have chosen to use input parameters instead of the setFilter() script method? Is it because the input parameters are processed with some special logic in your SQL View that goes beyond the filtering functionality that is built-in with setFilter() ?

    Hi Mustafa,

Thank you for the response, we are trying to use the rank node in HANA. The filtering of results is required prior to applying the ranking function, which is why we are trying to use input parameters.

    Thanks,

    Dana

  • Hi Dana,

Thanks for the clarification. It's unfortunate Design Studio does not yet include a Rank or Top/Bottom N script function for data sources. This would certainly make use cases such as yours easier to implement.

    Regards,

    Mustafa.

Dana - have you seen this blog by Krishna - https://blogs.sap.com/2013/12/30/using-multiple-values-in-input-parameter-for-filtering-in-graphical-calculation-view/ and it still doesn't work with Design Studio?

    Hi Tammy,

Yes, we referenced the blog, however we could not get our code to work as Krishna stated which is why we chose to use the SQL wrapper.

    Thanks,
    Dana
