Hi,
My client is running ERP system using crystal report as reporting tool.
I was told that I can use crystal 2013 to modify the report, I add a subreport for one of the report when I run the report from ERP system it prompt a parameter for the subreport, but when I run it from crystal 2013 designer it works fine (doesn't prompt for parameter for subreport).
for some reason when I run from ERP system the parameter link to sub-report seems to be broken.
I spoke with the ERP vendor they told me they use crystal report runtime version 11.5.5
is there any compatibility issue designer 2013 to create a report and run it on runtime version 11.5.5?
is there away round this parameter prompt issue?
Thank you.

Hi Haris,
11.5 is a very old version of the runtime.
You should either be using CR XI R2 or the runtime should be upgraded to support CR 2013 reports.

Hi Abhilash,
I spoke with SAP sales, they told me unfortunately XI R2 is not longer support and they don't sell it any more.
I am just wondering from memory crystal report comes with visual studio, I haven't use visual studio for quite a while. does crystal report that comes with visual studio is similar to crystal designer, hence I can use it to modify the crystal report since I can't get XI R2 anymore.
I did look at sap website about the crystal for visual studio but the version is quite confusing since it's difference that normal crystal report version.
would you be able to tell me what version of VS is using crystal XI R2?, is it VS 2008 or VS 2010?
Thank you.

Hi Dell,
I have tried modify the report from vs2005 and vs2008 but still the same problem.
what could cause for the report to prompt for parameter when run from crystal runtime but doesn't prompt when run from inside designer.
I appreciated if you could give me some idea so I know where to look.
Thank you.
