ODS automatic activation setting? -- Best practice

Hello BW Experts,

What is the best practice regarding the Automatic activation settings in the ODS. Is it okay it keep the ‘Activate ODS object data automatically’ enabled in the ODS settings or is it better practice to control the ODS activation in the process chain.
