Hello BW Experts,
What is the best practice regarding the Automatic activation settings in the ODS. Is it okay it keep the Activate ODS object data automatically enabled in the ODS settings or is it better practice to control the ODS activation in the process chain.
Suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
BWer
Hi,
It is good practice to set Automatic Activation setting in the ODS because when the data is push from NEW table to active table it needs to be activated. Yes in the case of DATA load through process chain we have the activation steps as mentioned by others.
hope it helps.
Cheers,
Balaji

hi BWer,
yes, we include ods data activation process type in our process chain but we also keep the 'activate ods object data automatically' enabled.
hope this helps.

BWer, According to the documentation, SAP recommends using process chains.

Hi,
Even if we have the Automatic update option set in the ODS, we do use the ODS Activation process in the process chain.
Hope this helps...
