WDA vs WDJ Timesheet with MSS Substitution Issue

Hi Everyone,

In the older WDJ version of the CATS timesheet (record working time) iview on the portal we were able to setup substitution rules and custom relationships to get tasks forwarded to other people if the manager is not available or if that position was vacant.  That manager could see anyone in that task assuming they had the proper authorization in place.  In the WDA version we just upgraded to with EHP7 it is using the select employees config.  So now the substituted employee gets the message that there are no entries to approve, but in CATSDB there are clearly entries associated with the workflow.  Also, when we give the employee the manages relationship or org change them into chief position they can see all entries that need approval.

What changed in the WDA version that causes the select employee config to kick in at this point or is there a setting to help with substitution situations?   I can't see a workflow needing a manages relationship when substituting to someone else for approval.  There is similar select employee config for leave request, but this is able to be substituted and opened without errors.

Any assistance would be appreciated.  I'm reviewing the config and oadp for options, but wanted to see if anyone else ran into this issue.

are you using UWL or POWL?

The issue seems to be that OADP config is saying these employees are not direct reports to the acting manager which they aren't, but this didn't stop the old version from allowing them to approve or review the entries.  Did something change in how OADP works in WDA version?

When I put them in the manager position or give them the Manages relationship then they can see all of the entries in the workitem.  The evaluation path appears to be kicking in where it didn't before (select employee config).

actually OADP did kick in earlier too. We work on OADP in CATS approval! were you using custom one? can you check?

The config existed, but it never seemed to impact substitutions.  Now it is causing the acting manager to see the message there is nothing to approve when there is.  So it is only showing direct reports which may not make sense in this case.

In V_PTREQ_TEAM C CATS Approval V view uses ZMSS_LCA_EE , but we have tested using MSS_LCA_EE while selecting all employees and the message "you have no data to approve or reject".  This same user can see the requests when they are in the manager position.

We needed to update the Universal Worklist (UWL) via SWFVISU needed to be updated for WL_ID.  Then we registered and it appears to work.
