CBTA - recording using 3rd party U

HI All,

I am trying to record the script , where input to the table is given through word document.

while executing the script the connectivity to sap screen to word is not happening and data also not get fetched from the word document, and the script is failing before the opening of word UI.

How we can perform recording in this scenario?

Please let me know if any idea how to make it available

    Hi,

Automating MS Word (or a MS Word Component within a SAP screen) is not possible using CBTA.

There would be a few options though:

    - Automate the specific step using a tool supporting MS Word (UFT as example)

and combine this step in a composite test.

    - Move the data currently in the Word document to a Test Data Container

populate values in the test steps from there.

    - Build a CBTA custom component to get the data, (won't advise that though)

    Hi Tanu.

For more information check this note: 1835958 - CBTA 3.0 : Known Issues.

Other options could be to use populated word file and pass the file like a parameter. Maybe custom CBTA component could be needed.

    Hope it helps.
