Alternate naming of functional location

Hi experts,

My client is having a requirement to create a temporary functional location during the testing and project phase to capture the cost during project phase against that technical object.

Once test got passed, they will convert it to actual functional location and all orders and data on previous FL needs to be transferred to the new FL.

They don't want to activate alternate labelling..to rename it

Is there any other way by which I can rename or achieve this purpose...

Looking for your valuable thoughts..

Thanks in advance

Regards

There is no other way to rename a functional location unless you use alternate labelling.

Why not set the lock/deletion flag on these temporary functional locations after yo have finished with them. Then create new flocs when required?

      Thanks Pete..

But how can the expenses occurred or captured via orders to the previous temporary FL will be transferred to new one.

We need to relate the old FL info to new one so that cost and other history data should be available with new FL.

      Thanks

    • Hello JK S,

If your query is to confirm about 'Whether the previous data is transferred to newly labeled F/Location?' , I think the answer is YES. You can verify this yourself in Dev servers. If any findings are there share with the forum. Your query is something to influence your decision to do something. Even if you get a confident answer from the forum, you'd never decide upon it solely on the basis of replies you receive. Ultimately you'd see it happening in test servers before you do it in Prdn server.
