Sharing an interactive version of Design Studio Dashboard

Hello,

I have Design Studio Version 15.0.6 installed. I have created a dashboard using SAP BI backend connections and as well as excel as data source. I am trying to figure out a way to share an interactive version of the dashboard. I need to send it to one of my colleagues so that she can play around with it.

I have gone through the following links but did not find a document that will give me step to do that.

Design Studio won't Display on BI Launchpad | SCN

Thanks for your help,

Pranoti

    Hi Pranoti,

It sounds like you want to share an offline interactive version of your Design Studio dashboard similar to what is possible with Dashboards (Xcelsius). The PDF export function in Design Studio does not support interactivity. It is basically a screen capture. The closest you will get to sharing a drill-able interactive dashboard is via the Offline Click-Through feature introduced in Design Studio 1.5, as documented in the post View on Offline Click-Through.

If you want to share a fully interactive version with your colleague then you will need to publish your dashboard to one of the supported platforms (such as the BusinessObjects BI Platform) and provide access to that platform to your colleague.

    Regards,

    Mustafa.

Today you share in Design Studio using a bookmark (you can share a bookmark) or export to a PDF

There is also the smart object feature; see Getting Familiar with Online Composition in Design Studio 1.5

      Hi Tammy,

      Thank you for your reply.

I tried the export to PDF way but it is not interactive (the user cannot click on filters applied) and the structure of the dashboard is not maintained.

I have not yet tried the bookmark way but wanted to make sure that it would have interactivity even though I am using excel as one of the data source for the dashboard.

I am looking for an end result where the user can click on filters and map to drill down into data.

      Thanks,

      Pranoti
