Custom inbound delivery type from confirmation categories

Hello all,

I am trying to find out the possibility to have 2 different inbound delivery types or 2 item categories for for my inbound delivery. Is it possible via standard configurations?

Need for this requirement:

I want to use QM and for Quality managed materials, goods receipt needs to be posted before put away as to generate the inspection lots. And for non-QM managed materials, i want to use type EL with item category ELN with put-away required before gods receipt posting.

Things i have checked is to have the new delivery type assigned to the internal confirmation category 'Rough goods receipt' and assign a delivery item category which doesn't need put-away before goods receipt. But with that the inbound delivery is not getting generated a system with the system message '

Not possible to create an inbound delivery

Message no. VL148'

Any suggestions on how to get it work?

The item category in the inbound delivery determine based on the configuration " Item Category Determination in Deliveries."

Try to differentiate the QM activated and non-activated materials through the item category group.

You may create a new item category group and item category by copying standard. Once you copied, unchecked the indicator 'relevant for picking' for the customized item category and assign it to the item category group which you customized along with the required delivery type. Finally use this customized item category where you don't need the picking before the goods receipt and keep the standard one where you need the picking before the goods receipt.
